The Work of Salvation

Service.

There is so much meaning

In that little word.

With the faith to move a mountain,

We can make our voices heard.

God has given us one moment

In this everlasting play

To go forth in faith with all our strength

And choose His will each day.

Will we disappoint our maker?

Can we let this mantle fall?

No! I say, with all my might.

For Him, I will stand tall.

I will go before the world

With His name upon my chest

To testify and teach His truth.

I will pass the test.

"He's but 18, he can but fail,"

The world will likely claim.

But they don't know my power comes

From Jesus' holy name.

For He stooped beneath the world,

On his back placed all our sins.

He bled for us with perfect love

That we might live again.

As He suffered in Gethsemane,

I believe he saw us one by one.

He knew our crimes yet still He cried,

"Come unto me, my little ones!"

A perfect man, the Son of God,

The beginning and the end,

Was betrayed by those He called His own--

They crucified my friend.

So let's not follow in the footsteps

Of Iscariot of old

And betray the one we need the most

Of whom all seers foretold.

But let us stand for Him in truth and right

And spread His glorious word.

We must now learn to love all men,

For it is time to serve The Lord.
